
NIELIT, Intel India Launch Agentic AI Skilling Programmes for Youth
NIELIT and Intel India launch two Agentic AI skilling programmes after a National Leadership Dialogue on future workforce readiness in New Delhi.
The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has partnered with Intel India to launch a new Agentic AI Skilling Initiative. The announcement came during a National Leadership Dialogue held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, themed around preparing India's workforce for the Agentic AI era.
The event brought together representatives from government bodies, foreign embassies, academia, and industry. Discussions centred on the shift from predictive and generative AI to agentic systems—AI capable of reasoning, planning, and executing complex tasks with human oversight—and what this means for education, employment, and skill development in India.
Chief Guest Shashi Shekhar Vempati, Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification, stressed the importance of continuous learning and employability as technology reshapes work. He called for long-term skilling pathways that blend foundational knowledge with emerging tech skills, real-world exposure, and industry-relevant case studies.
Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi, Director General of NIELIT, said the collaboration combines NIELIT's nationwide reach with Intel's technological expertise. Sudeep Shrivastava, COO of the IndiaAI Mission and Joint Secretary at MeitY, emphasised building a strong AI talent pipeline and fostering industry-academia partnerships to give students hands-on experience.
Shweta Khurana, Senior Director at Intel, noted that as AI evolves into agentic systems and physical intelligence, human readiness will be the defining factor of success. She described the skilling initiative as a step toward strengthening economic resilience and technological sovereignty.
The initiative introduces two programmes. 'Agentic AI for Everyone' focuses on workflow automation, AI agents, and multi-agent systems using no-code platforms. 'Engineering Agentic AI Systems' is designed for deeper technical learning, covering agent architecture, tool integration, orchestration, memory, and deployment using both no-code and code-based frameworks.
The dialogue and programme launch mark a step toward building an education ecosystem responsive to rapid AI advancements, aiming to equip learners and institutions across India for AI-led growth.
