Nilekani, family named in Karnataka SIR discrepancy list

Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, along with his wife and children, has been listed in Karnataka's discrepancy records under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The entries classify them as unmapped with the previous SIR, a status that places their voter details under scrutiny during the revision exercise.
The discrepancy list is not limited to the Nilekani family. Notices were also generated for several other prominent voters in the state, including entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath and Kannada actor Shivarajkumar.
Being named in the discrepancy list indicates that the voters concerned could not be mapped to the earlier SIR records. It does not, by itself, amount to removal from the electoral roll. The notices give those flagged an opportunity to reconcile their details as the revision process moves forward.
