Two more held in Noida over MDMA trafficking in Kerala

Two more suspected synthetic drug traffickers have been arrested from Noida as part of the continuing investigation into the seizure of one kilogram of MDMA by the Pantheerankavu police.

The arrested have been identified as Ajmal, a native of Nilambur in Malappuram district, and Surya, a native of Thiruvananthapuram.

Ajmal is alleged to be a major supplier who procured MDMA and methamphetamine in large quantities from Delhi and moved them into Kerala through hired carriers and drug peddlers, police sources said. Surya, a nursing student in Bengaluru, was allegedly staying with Ajmal in a rented apartment in Noida.

Four people had been arrested earlier in the case. The investigation that followed allegedly showed that the drugs had been supplied by Ajmal from Delhi.

A police team from Kozhikode raided Ajmal's apartment in Noida on Saturday, September 12, 2026, before the arrests. Several packets and machines allegedly used for packing drugs were recovered from the flat.

The two were brought to Kozhikode on Sunday, September 13, 2026, for further investigation. A senior officer attached to the special squad said Ajmal's alleged involvement in the recent seizure of more than 12 kg of MDMA in Malappuram had also come to light.
