Noida Approves Rs 85 Crore Flyover to Link Sectors 148 and 150

The Noida Authority has given the green light to a new 500-metre flyover that will directly connect Sector 148 and Sector 150 across the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The project, estimated to cost Rs 85 crore, was approved by the authority's chief executive officer Krishna Karunesh, with officials confirming that preparatory work has already started.

At present, commuters moving between sectors 148, 149, 150, 151, 152 and 153 must use narrow underpasses beneath the expressway to cross from one side to the other. These underpasses frequently become choked during peak hours and are prone to waterlogging in the monsoon season, causing significant delays for daily travellers.

The proposed flyover will pass directly over the expressway, providing a smooth, uninterrupted crossing and reducing reliance on existing interchanges. This is expected to cut travel time substantially for local residents.

General Manager AK Arora said the objective is to offer direct cross-expressway connectivity between sectors on both sides. The Noida Authority is currently preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR), and construction will commence once the proposal receives final official approval.

Around two lakh residents living in the affected sectors are expected to benefit directly from the project. In addition, roughly 20 nearby villages will gain from improved connectivity. The flyover is being designed keeping future traffic growth in mind, as rapid urbanisation in the region is expected to push population numbers higher in the coming years.
