NRI University Students Win Global Quantum Technology Challenge
Students of Dr. RVR NRI Institute of Technology have won the WISER Vanguard Global Challenge, an international quantum technology competition.
Students from Dr. RVR NRI Institute of Technology (Deemed to be University) have been declared global winners of the WISER Vanguard Global Challenge, an international competition centred on innovation in quantum technology.
The winning entry, titled THRINETRA – Quantum Workforce Optimisation, explores the application of quantum technology to improve workforce management. The team secured the top position in the global challenge.
The competition drew close to 65,000 participants from 33 countries, with 219 teams making it to the global round, the institution said in a statement on Friday.
The achievement is linked to the Amaravati Quantum Valley Initiative, under which the Washington Institute for STEM, Entrepreneurship and Research (WISER) aims to train 50,000 students across Andhra Pradesh in quantum technology. As part of this effort, 200 students from NRI University underwent training in the field. One team from the university was subsequently selected among the top 10 to compete in the WISER Vanguard Global Challenge, and went on to win the overall title.
The winning team comprised G. Tejaswi Venkata Aparna, Shaik Muntaz and R. Madhusudhana Rao, all students of the Data Science Department.
NRI University Chancellor R. Venkat Rao and Vice-Chancellor K.R.S. Sambasiva Rao congratulated the students, acknowledging their contribution to innovation, research and technology.
