NTA Moves Delhi Office from Okhla to Minto Road in Security Overhaul
NTA has shifted its Delhi office from Okhla to Minto Road to strengthen security around confidential examination information.
The National Testing Agency has relocated its Delhi office from Okhla to Minto Road, a move aimed at tightening security around the confidential information it handles for national-level examinations.
The new premises are on the fifth floor of the Government of India Press Building at Minto Road, New Delhi. The agency has asked candidates, students, educational institutions, stakeholders, service providers and the general public to note the new address and update their records.
The shift follows directions from the Education Ministry, which asked the NTA to strengthen the way it manages sensitive examination-related material. The decision traces back to a review meeting chaired by Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi in August, where the agency was told to move its operations to the new location on a war footing.
Security measures at the new office
The NTA has been directed to bolster security at the Minto Road premises, including the deployment of Central Industrial Security Force personnel.
The agency is also reworking its Confidential Operations (CONOPS) system. The revised setup will feature separate rooms for sensitive work and air-gapped computer systems kept isolated from external networks. A mandatory device-deposit system is being introduced as well, requiring staff handling confidential work to hand over their electronic devices to reduce the risk of unauthorised access or information leaks.
Audit of examination processes
The security changes come amid closer scrutiny of the NTA's examination systems. The Education Ministry has instructed the agency to carry out a detailed audit of its examination processes and submit a report on corrective steps taken to address the issues identified.
The NTA conducts several major national-level exams, including NEET UG, JEE Main and UGC-NET. The relocation is part of a broader effort to reinforce its examination infrastructure and safeguard confidential examination-related work.
