Odisha CM Majhi courts UAE investors in Dubai, meets economy minister
Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi met UAE Economy and Tourism Minister Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri in Dubai, pitching the State to investors.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met the United Arab Emirates' Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, in Dubai on Thursday, as he sought to draw investors to set up industrial projects in the eastern State.
The meeting came on the third day of a five-day UAE tour, during which the Chief Minister has held investor outreach programmes and roadshows, officials said.
Discussions centred on deepening economic ties between Odisha and the UAE, with a focus on identifying fresh investment opportunities in the State. Mr. Majhi pointed to what he described as Odisha's favourable business environment, its strong industrial ecosystem and its investment potential across key sectors, and invited UAE-based investors to explore opportunities there.
A roundtable with aluminium downstream industries is also on his schedule, aimed at showcasing the State's aluminium ecosystem and the scope for investment in the sector. He is separately due to meet the Indian Business & Professional Council.
The outreach follows an MoU signed by the Odisha government on Wednesday, the first day of its investor engagement in the UAE, covering 14 new projects with an investment of about ₹2.10 lakh crore.
