Om Ka Hari Trailer: A Father-Son Road Trip to Varanasi Becomes a Journey of Reconciliation
The trailer for family dramedy 'Om Ka Hari' is out. Raghubir Yadav plays a man who believes he is dying and travels to Varanasi with his estranged son, played by Anshuman Jha.
The trailer for the upcoming family dramedy 'Om Ka Hari' has been released. Directed by Harish Vyas, the film features Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav in lead roles, with Soni Razdan and Ayesha Kapur in supporting parts.
The story centres on Hari Prasad (Yadav), who, after a medical scare, becomes convinced he has only days to live. He decides to spend what he believes are his final moments in Varanasi. His son, Om (Jha), opposes the plan but reluctantly accompanies his father on the journey.
The trailer showcases their contentious relationship, marked by arguments and unresolved grievances. Their contrasting worldviews provide much of the film's humour, while the trip offers an opportunity to confront long-suppressed emotions.
Speaking about the dynamic, Yadav noted that a father and son can disagree on nearly everything yet remain deeply connected. Jha added that the film does not romanticise family, highlighting that the person one fights with most can also be the one loved most. Razdan described the film as a rare portrayal of a dysfunctional family that holds together despite its chaos.
'Om Ka Hari' marks the third collaboration between Vyas and Jha, following 'Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain' and 'Hum Bhi Akele-Tum Bhi Akele'. The film features music by the late Asha Bhosle, Amit Kumar, and Paresh Pahuja. Bhosle's final recorded film song, "Ae Meri Zindagi, Tu Chupi Hai Kahan," is part of the soundtrack and will release on September 8, her birth anniversary.
The film has premiered at festivals including Stuttgart, IFFM Melbourne, and the Red Lorry Film Festival. Produced by First Ray Films, 'Om Ka Hari' is slated for a theatrical release on September 18.
