Palarivattom dacoity case: seventh arrest in Palakkad, all accused now in custody

The Palarivattom police have made a seventh arrest in the alleged dacoity at the rented home of a group of migrant workers, taking the total number of people held in the case to seven. According to the police, the latest suspect was apprehended in Palakkad.

With this arrest, investigators say all those accused in the case are now in custody. The identities of the arrested individuals have not been made public, as an identification parade involving the victims is yet to be held.

Six of the accused, who were taken into custody from various locations across the State last week, have been remanded to the District Jail in Kakkanad. An officer said investigators will move for their custody for questioning once the identification parade is over.

The case relates to an alleged incident on September 17, 2026, in which a five-member gang robbed seven migrant workers, among them three women. The gang is accused of making off with ₹1,20,000 in cash, 10 mobile phones valued at roughly ₹3,05,000, gold ornaments and other valuables.

Police said the mobile phones and a part of the stolen money have been recovered from the accused. The victims were reportedly made to remove their clothes as the gang searched for ornaments.
