Andhra Pradesh to Launch Palle Panduga 3.0 for Rural Road Development
Palle Panduga 3.0, the third phase of Andhra Pradesh's rural development programme, will be launched on September 29, 2026, focusing on rural roads, drainage, and village infrastructure.
The Andhra Pradesh government is set to launch Palle Panduga 3.0, the third edition of its rural development programme, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Konidela Pawan Kalyan will preside over the statewide launch at Ramapuram village in Varikuntapadu Mandal, located in the drought-prone Udayagiri constituency of SPSR Nellore district.
The programme aims to transform rural infrastructure through the laying of 8,571 km of rural roads at an estimated cost of ₹5,838 crore. It also includes strengthening drainage systems and constructing village administrative buildings such as panchayat offices.
As part of the launch, works worth ₹12,000 crore will be initiated under the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), or VB-G RAM G. The mission is expected to extend the benefits of the rural employment programme to beneficiaries while creating rural assets.
According to Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh, the first phase saw the completion of projects worth ₹2,525 crore, covering 4,000 km of cement concrete roads, 22,500 livestock shelters (mini Gokulam), 15,000 water storage units, and one lakh farm pits. The second phase took up 53,382 works worth ₹6,787 crore across 13,326 panchayats.
The third phase will focus on completing ongoing works through panchayat-level grants, providing drinking water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and finishing pending rural road projects, including gravel roads to farms.
Preparations are underway to mobilise a large gathering of about one lakh people for the event. Several coordination meetings were held over the past week, attended by ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Ponguru Narayana, BC Janardhan Reddy, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, district Collector Himanshu Shukla, and Superintendent of Police Ajitha Vejendla. Arrangements at the venue include ground levelling, shelter sheds, drinking water facilities, and parking lots. The MLA has announced that crowds will be drawn from Udayagiri, Varikuntapadu, Kaligiri, Vinjamur, Seetharamapuram, Duttalur, and Kondapuram mandals.
