Palo Alto Networks to launch AI-driven cybersecurity service with Anthropic, OpenAI models

Palo Alto Networks announced on Tuesday that it will launch a new cybersecurity service for businesses, drawing on advanced artificial intelligence models from Anthropic and OpenAI to help uncover security vulnerabilities across corporate systems.

The service, named Unit 42 Continuous Frontier AI Defense, will rely on cyber-focused AI models, including Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5 and OpenAI's GPT-5.6-Cyber, alongside open-weight models, the company said.

The move comes as hackers increasingly deploy AI to find and exploit weaknesses in corporate networks, pushing cybersecurity firms to build defenses capable of detecting and responding to threats more quickly.

According to the company, the offering is designed to continuously test web applications, application programming interfaces and cloud infrastructure. This would help customers identify vulnerabilities and possible attack paths as their digital environments evolve.

Palo Alto Networks said the service would also offer guidance on closing security gaps, including code-level fixes and virtual patching options.

The service is set to be available globally through annual subscriptions. Pricing will be based on the mix of OpenAI, Anthropic and open-source models that customers choose.
