Pankaj Tripathi shared a hilarious anecdote about discovering 'Sajanva' via a reel, at the Mirzapur: The Movie music launch in Mumbai.
Actor Pankaj Tripathi brought a dose of humour to the music launch of 'Mirzapur: The Movie' in Mumbai on Monday, sharing a personal story about how his family stumbled upon one of the film's new tracks, 'Sajanva'.
When asked about his favourite song from the album, Tripathi recounted an amusing incident. He revealed that his wife recently came across a paparazzi-made reel featuring him, with 'Sajanva' playing in the background. Curious, she asked him about the track. Tripathi admitted he was equally unaware and suggested she Google it. Their daughter, however, was quick to correct them both, pointing out that the song was from 'Mirzapur: The Movie'.
The event showcased performances by singers Rashmeet Kaur, Romy, and Dhanda Nyoliwala, among others, on new tracks including 'Varoon Forever', 'Saason Ki Mala', 'Do Numbari', and 'Ghoom Ghoom'. The film's cast, including Ravi Kishan, Sonal Chauhan, Divyendu, Ali Fazal, Jitendra, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Rasika Duggal, attended the launch.
'Mirzapur: The Movie' continues the story from the first season, bringing back iconic characters like Kaleen Bhaiya, Munna Bhaiya, and Guddu Pandit. The new chapter centres on the intense race for the Mirzapur throne, with fresh contenders altering the power dynamics.
Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, the film is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, with co-producers Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, 'Mirzapur: The Movie' is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 4, 2026.
