Pawan Kalyan Turns 55: Director Sujeeth Teases New OG Universe Update

Telugu superstar and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan turned 55 on September 2, drawing warm wishes from political leaders, family, and the film industry. Among the tributes, director Sujeeth, who helmed the upcoming film 'They Call Him OG', shared behind-the-scenes photos with the actor and hinted at a special reveal for fans of the OG Universe.
Sujeeth posted on X that the OG Universe would offer a "small treat" at 4:05 pm, reflecting on his journey from being a fan of Pawan Kalyan to directing him. "From watching u on the big screen as a fan... to standing behind the camera and saying 'Action' sir. It still feels surreal," he wrote, adding, "First my hero. Now my G."
'They Call Him OG' has been reported as a blockbuster, grossing around Rs 300 crore worldwide, with a sequel already in development. The expanding OG Universe has generated considerable anticipation among fans.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on X, praising Pawan Kalyan's role in the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh. "He is widely respected among the people and is at the forefront of adding momentum to the good governance agenda of the NDA," PM Modi wrote.
Actor-politician Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan's brother, posted an elaborate message in Telugu, highlighting his dedication to family and public service, including village development, tribal welfare, and environmental protection. "Kalyan Babu, the resolver of resolutions," he wrote, wishing him good health and success.
Other film personalities, including Allu Arjun and director Buchi Babu Sana, also shared heartfelt wishes. Pawan Kalyan's nephew, actor Varun Tej, called him a "power storm" and expressed pride in his journey.
Pawan Kalyan, known as "Power Star," made his acting debut in 1996 with 'Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi' and has starred in hits like 'Tholi Prema', 'Gabbar Singh', and 'Attarintiki Daredi'. He founded the Jana Sena Party in 2014 and currently serves as Deputy Chief Minister, handling Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, and Rural Water Supply. His upcoming projects include 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' and 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh'.
