Bodycam Shows Officers Finding Slain Pennsylvania Student in Car
Pennsylvania police released bodycam footage showing the discovery of a college student's body. A man and his mother face charges.
Police in Washington County, Pennsylvania, have released body camera footage showing the moment officers discovered the body of a missing college student inside a vehicle.
The footage, from the California Borough Police Department, shows officers approaching a car on the night of August 20. An officer is heard calling for emergency medical services after finding an unconscious woman in the back seat. The officer later reports blood at the scene and breaks a window to gain access to the vehicle.
Officials identified the victim as 18-year-old Karoline Jordyn Heintz, a freshman on the women's soccer team at PennWest California University. The footage also captures an officer speaking with the victim's father at the scene, telling him they will talk at the police station.
Authorities have charged 18-year-old Royce Joel Moser in connection with the fatal stabbing. His mother, Rachel Moser, is also accused of helping to cover up the crime. Both are being held without bail pending court hearings.
