Pink Power Run returns to Hyderabad with ₹75 lakh prize purse
Hyderabad's Pink Power Run returns Sept 27 with ₹75 lakh prize pool, AIMS-certified half marathon, and over 20,000 expected participants.
The third edition of the Pink Power Run will be held on September 27 at People's Plaza on Necklace Road in Hyderabad, with organisers expecting more than 20,000 participants. The announcement was made jointly by the Sudha Reddy Foundation and the MEIL Foundation.
The event will feature four race categories — 3 km, 5 km, 10 km, and a 21.097-km half marathon certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). A total prize pool of ₹75 lakh has been announced, with over 100 winners expected to benefit.
Sudha Reddy, chairperson of the Sudha Reddy Foundation and director of MEIL, said the run began as a small dream and has now reached its third successful year.
Dr. Pragnya Chigurupati, a breast oncosurgeon at AIG Hospitals, highlighted the significance of the initiative in light of rising breast cancer cases in the region. She noted that Telangana currently records the highest incidence of breast cancer among women in the country, with a growing number of cases among younger women.
Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, said she was grateful to be invited back for the cause. She recalled participating in a Pink Power Run activity in Vietnam during the Miss World Festival, noting that the initiative has now extended beyond India.
