PM Modi in Vadodara: Rs 35,000 crore projects, AI push for youth
PM Modi launches Rs 35,000 crore projects in Vadodara, urges youth to embrace AI and skills for a developed India by 2047.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for infrastructure projects worth over Rs 35,000 crore in Vadodara, Gujarat. The projects span railways, roads, and other connectivity initiatives aimed at strengthening logistics in the region.
Speaking at the 'NaMo for Viksit Bharat' programme at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Modi called on India's youth to prepare for emerging opportunities in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He stressed that AI would extend beyond the technology sector, creating new avenues in agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, and robotics.
The Prime Minister highlighted the need for continuous skill upgradation to keep pace with evolving technology and global demands. He linked the convergence of education, skills, and industry as crucial for India's next phase of development.
A key highlight of the visit was the completion of the 2,800-km Dedicated Freight Corridor, which Modi described as a historic milestone for 21st-century India and a major step for the Gati Shakti initiative.
Modi also traced Vadodara's evolution from an education and industrial centre to a hub for modern manufacturing and emerging technologies. He noted its growth in textiles, tiles, oil, petrochemicals, and as a major MSME hub, while also referencing its role in aerospace manufacturing, including the C-295 aircraft programme.
The event saw participation from around 6,000 students, young professionals, and social media influencers. Modi urged the youth to contribute towards the goal of a developed India by 2047, describing the current period as an important phase for the country's young population.
