Pooja Meri Jaan trailer explores rejection, consent and obsession

The trailer for the upcoming drama Pooja Meri Jaan, headlined by Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi, has been released, offering a first look at a story built around rejection, obsession and consent.

The narrative centres on Pooja, a young woman whose choice to turn down a close friend's romantic interest triggers a chain of disturbing events. As the situation develops, uncertainty grows over what actually took place, who bears responsibility, and whether Pooja is simply a victim of circumstance or is more closely tied to the events than it first appears.

Huma Qureshi plays Sana, a lawyer drawn into the case who works to reconstruct the circumstances around Pooja and make sense of the conflicting versions of events. The film keeps the truth deliberately out of reach, pushing viewers to weigh where innocence ends and accountability begins.

Vikram Singh Chauhan and Vijay Raaz also appear in prominent roles.

Mrunal Thakur said the part appealed to her because it allowed her to explore different facets of her craft. She described Pooja as a deeply layered character, noting that the complexity of what unfolds around her was a major draw, and that the role demanded several emotional shades while deliberately withholding the answers the audience is meant to uncover.

Huma Qureshi said the film's strength lies in refusing to view its central situation from a single perspective. Her character, she added, brings a legal lens to the story as she tries to piece together what happened and understand the competing accounts surrounding Pooja.

Directed by Navjot Gulati and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, Pooja Meri Jaan is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026, on Zee 5 in Hindi.
