Dianne Wiest on Her Favourite Scene in 'Practical Magic 2'

Dianne Wiest shares her favourite moment from the 'Practical Magic' sequel, which hits theatres on September 11.

Nearly three decades after the original 'Practical Magic' charmed audiences, Dianne Wiest is back as Aunt Jet in the long-awaited sequel. At the London premiere on August 26, the 78-year-old actor revealed which scene from the new film she enjoyed the most.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Wiest singled out a birthday lunch sequence featuring the returning cast. "Well, for me, it was when we were all at the table for my birthday lunch. I loved that scene," she said. "We were all there, we're all together, and we're celebrating. It was a great scene."

Wiest first played Bridget "Jet" Owens in the 1998 original, which starred Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock as sisters Gillian and Sally Owens. For the sequel, she reunites with Kidman, Bullock, and Stockard Channing, while new cast members include Lee Pace, Joey King, and Maisie Williams.

Kidman also shared her own memorable moments from filming, including a rooftop jump and a dance scene shot in freezing conditions at 3 a.m. "Jumping off the roof together, all of us, was kind of crazy," she told PEOPLE. She added that she could easily lift Bullock, who "is light as a feather."

Kidman had earlier discussed the sequel in a November 2025 interview, noting the comfort of reuniting with the cast. "I have such a strong relationship with all those women, so I felt protected and loved," she said.

The sequel is directed by Susanne Bier, taking over from Griffin Dunne. The filmmaking team expressed excitement about bringing the Owens family back to the big screen, with new actors joining the next chapter. 'Practical Magic 2' is set for a theatrical release on September 11.
