Four Arrested After Pregnant Woman's Body Found Burnt in Dhule

Four people have been arrested in connection with the death of a pregnant woman whose burnt body was recovered in Maharashtra's Dhule district, police said.

The body was found near the Garatad Bari area along the Dhule-Solapur Highway. Investigators scanned 11 hours of CCTV footage and used technical analysis to trace the vehicle believed to have been used in the crime.

The trail led to the Saptasur Cultural Art Centre in the Jamkhed area of Ahilyanagar district. According to the investigation, a dispute at the centre preceded the assault on the woman, identified as 31-year-old Pinky Hanumant Katka, near Beed district.

Police believe the accused assaulted her and, finding her unconscious, concluded she had died. They then allegedly conspired to dispose of the body, carrying it roughly 275 km by car to Dhule.

In Dhule, the accused are alleged to have poured petrol on the body and set it on fire in a deserted hilly area.

While four suspects have been taken into custody, two others remain at large. Police teams have been dispatched to trace and arrest them.
