President Murmu Launches Brahma Kumaris' Spiritual Awakening Campaign in Vadodara

President Droupadi Murmu launched the Brahma Kumaris' campaign 'Spiritual Awakening for World Renewal' and inaugurated the 'Global Spiritual Palace' Retreat Centre at Vadodara, Gujarat, on September 23, 2026.

At the same event, the President virtually launched a Brahma Kumaris initiative based in Nadiad, Gujarat, titled 'Youth for Viksit Bharat: Awakening Inner Strength for Nation Building'.

Addressing the gathering, the President said the country's needs extend beyond economic development to human development. She called for an education that awakens wisdom rather than merely sharpening the intellect, progress that is sensitive towards nature, a form of strength that teaches self-control instead of control over others, and a spirituality that brings people together.

She welcomed the Brahma Kumaris' efforts in carrying the message of personal transformation and global renewal through meditation and spiritual knowledge, noting that the organisation's reach extends across India and to many countries.

The President said the capacity for change lies within every individual. If people come to believe that altering their thoughts and actions can reshape their lives, and if hope and self-respect are restored to them, they can drive positive change for themselves and for society, she said. She expressed confidence that the Global Spiritual Palace would become a meeting place for people from diverse backgrounds to come together in peace and harmony.

Referring to the virtual launch at Nadiad, the birthplace of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the President said it was heartening to flag off the youth campaign there. When young people direct their thoughts, emotions and actions positively, the effect reaches the family, the workplace, the community and eventually the entire nation, she said. She described 'Awakening Inner Strength' as more than a message of personal development, calling it a deeper process of nation-building.

The President emphasised that empowering the youth is a collective responsibility, and that they must be shaped into self-reliant, peace-loving and responsible citizens. Noting that self-transformation is regarded as the foundation of societal transformation, she said this legacy must be aligned with the demands of modern life. The goal, she added, should be an India that is economically prosperous, scientifically advanced, socially inclusive and spiritually awakened.
