Prince Harry and Meghan land in UK for new chapter

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have arrived in the United Kingdom, marking the start of a new chapter after more than six years in the United States. The couple was seen at Birmingham International Airport on Wednesday, where a private chartered plane believed to be carrying them and their family touched down around midday.

Flight tracking data showed a private charter from Van Nuys, California, landed at the airport at 11:56 a.m. The couple's children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are already enrolled in British schools and are set to begin classes in September. The family plans to live at a private, non-royal residence outside London, though the exact location has not been disclosed.

A representative for Prince Harry declined to comment on the arrival. The move comes less than a week after the couple surprised many by announcing their intention to return to Britain.

Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to California, citing a desire for financial independence. They later signed lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify. Their relationship with the royal family became strained after the couple accused palace staff of insensitivity toward Meghan's mental health and made allegations of racism and media manipulation against members of the institution.

Tensions with King Charles III, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, have reportedly eased in recent months. However, relations with Prince William remain difficult. Harry has previously expressed a wish to reconcile with his father and to give his children the chance to know their grandfather.

Last month, Harry, Meghan, and their children visited the King at Highgrove Estate during a trip for charity events. It was the first time Archie and Lilibet had seen their grandfather in person since 2022. The King was not informed of the couple's impending move at the time and only learned of it last week.
