Pune Murder Probe Turns to Alleged Secret Wedding in Rajasthan
Pune Rural Police are probing whether the two accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case secretly married at a Rajasthan temple in December 2025.
Investigators looking into the murder of Ketan Agarwal are examining whether the two prime accused — Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary — entered into a secret marriage at the Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan in December 2025.
The line of inquiry emerged after the Pune Rural Police analysed mobile phone conversations between the two accused, which pointed to a possible hidden marriage. A special team travelled to Rajasthan in July to verify the claim and collect supporting evidence.
As part of the investigation, a photograph was reportedly recovered from a mobile phone showing Goyal and Chaudhary wearing floral garlands. The image has been placed on record as evidence along with the chargesheet.
However, the police have not yet traced any official temple registration record or CCTV footage that would confirm a wedding ceremony took place at the shrine. Investigators are still working to establish the exact nature of the relationship between the two and whether they had married before Goyal's scheduled wedding to Agarwal.
The alleged marriage remains a key thread in the case, with the police continuing to verify the circumstances of the couple's visit to Rajasthan and the details surrounding the photograph.
Agarwal died after being pushed off the Lohagad fort on June 18. Goyal, his fiancee, and Chaudhary were subsequently arrested in connection with the death.
