Pune Software Engineer Dies After Being Hit by Car While Jogging

A software engineer lost his life in Pune after a speeding car struck him while he was out jogging, police said. The victim has been identified as Virendra Dwivedi.
The incident took place on Pashan-Bavdhan Road, where Dwivedi was running when the vehicle hit him. After the collision, he was placed in the same car and taken to a nearby hospital. Medical staff attempted to revive him, but their efforts did not succeed and he was declared dead.
Investigators have found that the car involved in the crash is registered in the name of a private company based in Pune. As part of the probe, police are reviewing CCTV footage collected from the accident site and from roads in the surrounding area. The footage is expected to help establish how the crash occurred and how fast the vehicle was travelling at the time.
Officials said they will question representatives of the company that owns the car as they work to identify who was driving and fix responsibility for the incident. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
