A 23-year-old woman working in Pune's technology sector has died by suicide, with her family alleging that her husband and in-laws subjected her to dowry harassment.
The family said they spent around Rs 45 lakh on the wedding and gave 10 tolas of gold. Despite this, they alleged, the woman's husband and his relatives continued to press for an additional Rs 5 lakh, which they said was meant for buying a car.
