Aamir Khan in Talks to Join Sidharth Malhotra, Tiger Shroff for Race Reboot
Aamir Khan is reportedly in early talks to headline the Race Reboot alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff, with the actor actively involved in script development.
The Race franchise is reportedly gearing up for a reboot with a fresh ensemble cast, and the project may now feature one of Bollywood's most selective leading men. According to sources, Aamir Khan is in early discussions to join Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff for the new film, which is being positioned as a complete reinvention of the action-thriller series.
The original Race films, which began with Saif Ali Khan in the lead for the first two installments, became known for their high-octane action, plot twists, and ensemble casts. The third film, Race 3, took the series in a different direction with Salman Khan at the helm. The reboot is now reportedly being planned as a standalone reimagining with an entirely new star cast.
A source close to the development said Khan has responded positively to the initial script and is taking an active role in shaping the material. "Aamir has liked the script and is very involved in the writing process," the source said, adding that the actor believes the reboot can bring a completely new flavour to the franchise. The film is being envisioned as a thriller unlike anything previously attempted in Indian cinema, with the makers aiming to take the series into new creative territory.
The project is reportedly being directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who previously collaborated with Khan on Dhoom 3 and Thugs of Hindostan. If the deal is finalized, it would mark their third partnership in the action-thriller space. Producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films has reportedly already begun pre-production work on the film.
While casting announcements are expected at a later stage, the combination of Khan, Malhotra, and Shroff has already generated significant buzz. The source indicated that a strong ensemble is being assembled, with the goal of delivering a big-screen thriller that feels fresh for audiences. Khan is said to be taking his time to ensure the script reaches the level he wants before committing fully to the project.
