Rahul Gandhi Hits Out at BJP Over Delhi Building Collapse, Cites 'Triple-Engine' Failure

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led administration following the collapse of a five-storey building in Delhi's Satya Niketan area, which killed seven people. The building was reportedly packed with students near Delhi University's South Campus.

In a post on X, Gandhi accused the government of following a "shameful pattern" — failing to prevent accidents, engaging in grandstanding after tragedies, and blaming low-level officers while the real culprits escape accountability. He questioned how the administration could plead helplessness when Delhi is governed by a "triple-engine" government, suggesting the failure stems from a lack of intent.

Gandhi also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for using insulting labels like "dimagi Naxal" and "naraaz fufa" against those who demand answers, alleging the intent is to shame and silence dissent. He referenced the "TINA" factor — "There Is No Alternative" — often cited by the prime minister's supporters, to underscore his point about the absence of accountability.

Highlighting that the Satya Niketan collapse was not an isolated incident, Gandhi pointed to recent tragedies in the capital, including six deaths in Saidulajab and a fire in Hauz Rani that claimed 22 lives. He argued that despite 12 years of governance, real issues remain unaddressed, and repeated disasters show a systemic failure to act.
