Rahul Gandhi begins two-day Rae Bareli visit, to review development work
Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day Rae Bareli visit, chairing a development panel meeting and inaugurating ₹3-crore local projects.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, arrived in his parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli on Tuesday for a two-day visit packed with public engagements and administrative reviews.
On the first day, Mr. Gandhi is scheduled to chair a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee, which oversees the implementation of central and state schemes in the district. He is also expected to meet bullion traders at Prabhu Town, followed by interactions with office-bearers of the Central Bar Association and delegations of sportspersons, medical professionals and chemists.
On Wednesday, the Congress leader will inaugurate development works completed at a cost of ₹3 crore, funded through his Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) allocation.
State Congress leaders received Mr. Gandhi at the Lucknow airport as he travelled from New Delhi to Rae Bareli. The party said a large crowd gathered along the route to welcome him, with roads from Lahi Border, Maharajganj, Hardaspur to Gol Chowraha filled with supporters. In a post on X, the Congress described the reception as a reflection of the people's affection for their leader and asserted that the bond between Mr. Gandhi and the constituency remains strong.
