Woman Beaten to Death in Raichur; Toddler Found Crying on Her Body

A 25-year-old woman was found fatally injured in a Raichur field, with her toddler beside her. Police have detained her husband and her alleged lover.

A 25-year-old woman was found fatally injured in a field on the outskirts of a village in Karnataka's Raichur district, in a case in which police suspect she was beaten with a stone.

According to the police, the woman's one-and-a-half-year-old daughter was allegedly placed on her body after the attack. When local residents came upon the scene, the child was clinging to her mother and crying.

The incident was reported from RH Camp-5 in the Sindhanur sub-district. The victim, identified as Sneha, was a resident of RH Camp-4.

Police said the woman was still breathing when they arrived at the spot. She was taken for treatment but died of her injuries.

Two men have been taken into custody in connection with the case — her husband and a man described as her lover. Officers are questioning both to determine who was responsible and what led to the killing.

Preliminary findings indicate that Sneha had been married to her husband, Amit, for four years, and that she had been in an extramarital relationship with a man named Shubham for the past four months.

The Sindhanur Rural Police registered the case and began investigating after being alerted to the discovery. The body has been sent to Sindhanur Taluk Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
