Rajiv Yuva Vikasam aid to roll out from November 19, Bhatti tells officials

Financial assistance of up to ₹1 lakh under the first phase of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme will be extended to beneficiaries from November 19, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said, directing officials to complete arrangements for distributing the support on the same day.

The assistance is intended to help recipients set up self-employment units. Chairing a review meeting on SC and ST welfare at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Mr. Vikramarka, who was joined by Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, said the State government remained committed to honouring the assurances given to young people.

Turning to the proposal for mechanised centralised kitchens in government residential schools, the Deputy Chief Minister asked officials to speed up their establishment in SC residential schools across the State. He made clear that students' food arrangements must not be disturbed until the modern kitchens are ready, and instructed that a regular supply of quality, hygienic food be maintained in the interim.

Mr. Vikramarka also sought details on spending on the SC Study Circles, the number of candidates selected, the training imparted and the results achieved. He called for a detailed assessment report on the outcomes of the Study Circles and whether the benefits justified the investment, and asked officials to ensure quality coaching so that the programme delivers the best possible results.

On the 30 degree colleges run by the Social Welfare Department, he directed officials to explore the introduction of new courses aligned with industry requirements, suggesting that they be linked to the Young India Skills University wherever necessary.

Officials told the review that proposals for the construction of 26 Ekalavya schools under the Tribal Welfare Department had been submitted to the Central Government.
