J&K Police Arrest Three in Rajouri for Aiding LeT Terrorists

Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three local residents in Rajouri district's Pir Panjal valley for allegedly providing logistical support to infiltrating terrorists of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

The accused, identified as Mohammad Azam, Zakir Hussain and Mohammad Mushtaq, all residents of Kot Charwal, were allegedly part of a logistics module linked to the proscribed outfit. Police said the three harboured terrorists and facilitated their movement.

Investigators said their alleged role in assisting terrorists who were later killed in an encounter at Chassana in Reasi district in 2023 has also come to light. According to police, the accused provided shelter and logistical assistance to multiple terrorist groups and helped move them across the Rajouri-Reasi districts and through the Pir Panjal region up to Shopian.

A pistol with a magazine and ammunition, along with two Chinese grenades, were recovered on the disclosure of the accused, police said, adding that further investigation is underway.

Separately, the General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps, accompanied by the GOC of Delta Force, visited Brattal in Udhampur on Friday, where two terrorists were killed a day earlier in an anti-terror operation. The officers reviewed the evolving security environment, operational dynamics and measures to sustain a relentless operational tempo for a swift, coordinated and decisive response to emerging threats. The GOC praised the troops for their resolute action, high morale and commitment.
