The Special Investigation Team (SIT) examining the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple has identified 105 instances in which currency was removed without authorisation, according to its report in the case.
Appearing for the Uttar Pradesh government, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the court that the investigation has been "substantially concluded". He said a charge sheet in the matter would be placed before the court of the jurisdictional Additional Sessions Judge on or before September 25, 2026.
The submission sets a definite timeline for the next stage of the proceedings, moving the case from the probe phase towards trial. The SIT's findings, which catalogue the unauthorised removals, form the basis of the case that will now be put before the sessions court.
The case concerns donations made at the temple, and the alleged diversion of funds through unauthorised withdrawals. With the investigation described as substantially complete, the focus shifts to the filing of the charge sheet and the subsequent judicial process.
