Ramdev Sends Sweets, Kangana Calls Him 'Brother' as Raksha Bandhan Ends Feud
Ramdev and Kangana Ranaut ended their public feud on Raksha Bandhan, with the yoga guru sending sweets and the MP accepting him as an elder brother.
A week-long public dispute between yoga guru Ramdev and actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has been resolved, with Raksha Bandhan serving as the backdrop for reconciliation. Ramdev initiated the truce by sending a gift and sweets to Ranaut, urging that dialogue replace hostility.
"There should be no hatred in the country for any reason... Any dispute should be resolved through dialogue," Ramdev said, adding that he would call Ranaut to extend Raksha Bandhan wishes. He also suggested that ruling and opposition parties tie rakhis to send a message against discrimination.
Ranaut, a Bharatiya Janata Party MP, accepted the gesture on Instagram, referring to Ramdev as her elder brother. "Festivals are meant to forget mistakes. My 'brother' Ram Dev has aptly said that conversation should replace arguments," she wrote.
The feud began last week after Ranaut's "gutter generation" remark about Gen Z protesters. Ramdev criticised her comment, questioning her qualifications. Ranaut responded sharply on social media, referencing a Supreme Court case involving Ramdev and asserting her own character was superior.
Ramdev initially declined to escalate, saying the country knows his contribution. Days later, he chose to end the controversy with the Raksha Bandhan peace offering, which Ranaut has now accepted.
