Reacher Secures Season 6 Renewal Ahead of Fifth Season Debut

Amazon has renewed its hit series Reacher for a sixth season, the company has confirmed. The announcement comes before the debut of the show's fifth season.

The series, headlined by Alan Ritchson as the titular former military police officer, has been a dependable performer for the streaming platform since it first premiered in 2022.

Season four, which launched on August 12 and wrapped its eight-episode run on September 16, drew 66 million viewers globally within its first 28 days, according to Amazon. That instalment adapted Lee Child's novel Gone Tomorrow, in which Reacher becomes entangled in a dangerous plot after a chance meeting with a distressed stranger on the subway. Alongside Ritchson, the season featured Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan and Kathleen Robertson.

Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios, credited the author and the creative team behind the adaptation. He said what Lee Child has built, and what Nick Santora and his creative teams have brought to life, is simply incredible. He added that Ritchson is Jack Reacher, delivering a performance that has captivated audiences worldwide, and said the studio was excited to continue the journey with its partners at Paramount Television Studios, calling the show a truly iconic series.

The fifth season, based on Child's novel Make Me, is currently in production in Toronto.
