Real Kashmir Football Club earns International Emmy drama nomination
Real Kashmir Football Club, starring Manav Kaul and Zeeshan Ayyub, has been nominated for Best Drama Series at the International Emmy Awards.
The sports drama series Real Kashmir Football Club, headlined by Manav Kaul and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, has secured a nomination in the Best Drama Series category at the upcoming International Emmy Awards.
The show features in a competitive field that includes A Thousand Blows, France's Carême and Argentina's Menem. The nominations were announced on Wednesday.
Kaul shared the news on Instagram, posting the series' poster with a message congratulating the team behind the show.
Inspired by the true story of Real Kashmir FC, Jammu and Kashmir's first professional football club, the series is produced by Jaya Entertainment, Oshun Entertainment, Kapital Entertainment and SK Global Entertainment. It is directed by Mahesh Mathai and Rajesh Mapuskar, and written by Simaab Hashmi, Umang Vyas, Dhruv Narang, Danish Renzu and Mathai. Abhishant Rana plays a pivotal role.
Ahead of its release, Kaul said the story carried deep personal meaning for him as a Kashmiri, describing it as a narrative about the human spirit and the conviction that change is possible even in the most difficult circumstances. Ayyub called it a celebration of friendship, faith and conviction, noting that what the men in the story built was not merely a football club but a renewed reason for people to believe.
The series is currently streaming on SonyLIV, having been released on December 9, 2025.
