Revanth Reddy Wants Adilabad, Warangal Airports to Reflect Telangana Heritage
CM Revanth Reddy reviewed designs for Adilabad and Warangal airports and the Telangana Bhavan in Delhi, seeking Telangana's cultural motifs and faster inter-departmental coordination.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to incorporate Telangana's history, culture, architecture and artistic traditions into the designs of the proposed airports at Adilabad and Warangal, as well as the Telangana Bhavan in Delhi.
During a review of the three projects at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister examined the proposed designs and recommended changes to some of the structures. He said the plans should draw on the State's architectural legacy, citing the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam, the Ramappa temple and the Pillalamarri temple as reference points.
Mr. Reddy stressed that all supporting infrastructure should be executed with coordination among departments so that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeline. Officials briefed him on the relocation of power lines, diversion of streams, realignment of roads, and shifting of BSNL lines and drinking water supply pipelines in the areas where the airports are planned.
The Chief Minister directed that roads be built along the airport compound walls and linked to nearby district, State and national highways. He asked the Energy, Roads and Buildings, Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation departments to work in tandem with BSNL authorities so that the necessary works proceed simultaneously.
For stretches where streams or other water flows need to be diverted, Mr. Reddy suggested constructing ponds within or near the airport premises to regulate and redirect the flows.
The review meeting was attended by Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, MPs Vem Narender Reddy and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah and Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, among others.
