Revanth Reddy Woos Singapore Firms as Delegation Eyes Semiconductor Unit
Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy invited Singapore companies to invest in the State during a meeting with a delegation led by Augustine Lee at the Assembly.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has invited Singapore-based companies to invest in Telangana, assuring them of comprehensive support from the State government for prospective investors.
The invitation came during a meeting at the Assembly on Wednesday with a Singapore delegation led by Augustine Lee, Permanent Secretary of the Energy Market Division under Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry.
During the discussions, the Singapore representatives conveyed their interest in establishing a semiconductor industry in Telangana. The Chief Minister welcomed the proposal and said the government would extend full backing to manufacturing units set up in the State. The delegation responded positively to the investment proposals.
Revanth Reddy briefed the visiting officials on several major development projects being undertaken by the State government and sought Singapore's financial support. The delegation was also invited to attend the Telangana Global Summit, scheduled to be held at Bharat Future City in December this year.
The Chief Minister outlined key features of the Musi River rejuvenation project and the development of the Future City. Discussions covered the ongoing first phase of the Musi project, which spans the stretch from the confluence of the Musi and Eesa rivers up to Gandhi Sarovar, as well as plans to promote a night economy.
He also highlighted the development of Bharat Future City as a net-zero city and the State's efforts to transform Hyderabad from a tourist destination into a knowledge hub. The delegation was informed about agreements between the Telangana government and universities such as Harvard, Oxford, MIT and the London School of Business to establish offshore campuses in Hyderabad.
State Government Advisor K. Ramakrishna Rao, South Asia Senior Director Francis Chong, Consul-General William Chik and other Singapore representatives attended the meeting.
