Pattinson Calls 'The Batman: Part II' a 'Real Left Turn' From 2022 Film

Robert Pattinson has described the upcoming sequel to 'The Batman' as a significant departure from the 2022 original, calling it "a real left turn" while noting that it still preserves some of the first film's atmosphere.

In an interview, Pattinson said the follow-up is "so ambitious" and suggested viewers will encounter a fresh interpretation of the Batman story when the film releases next year. He explained that the first movie offered a distinct take on the character, and the sequel represents another shift in approach.

"It's a real left turn from the first one, but somehow it keeps elements of the kind of feel of it," he said, adding that he is eager to see how the project turns out.

Pattinson is currently filming 'The Batman: Part II', directed by Matt Reeves, and is reprising his role as Bruce Wayne. The sequel features a star-studded cast, with Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan joining the franchise. Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch and Brian Tyree Henry are also set to appear.

Away from the Batman franchise, Pattinson recently appeared in 'The Drama' and 'The Odyssey'. His film 'Primetime', in which he portrays 'To Catch a Predator' host Chris Hansen, is scheduled for release on Friday, while his final project of the year, 'Dune: Part Three', is set to arrive on December 18.
