
Railway Board Clears 5,165 Vacancies for RRB NTPC 2026 Cycle
Railway Board approves 5,165 NTPC 2026 vacancies — 3,477 graduate and 1,688 undergraduate posts — with final details due Sept 26.
The Railway Board has approved a total of 5,165 vacancies for the Railway Recruitment Board's Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) recruitment cycle for 2026. The positions will be filled through a Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) covering multiple zonal railways and production units.
Of the sanctioned posts, 3,477 are earmarked for graduate-level roles. This includes 2,750 vacancies for Traffic/Operating positions, 56 for Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor, 300 for Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist, and 371 for Senior Clerk-cum-Typist.
The remaining 1,688 vacancies are for undergraduate-level posts. These comprise 200 Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, 700 Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, 600 Junior Clerk-cum-Typist, and 188 Trains Clerk positions. The notice also covers vacancies at the Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM), Secunderabad.
Zonal Railways and Production Units have been directed to submit their final vacancy details through the OIRMS portal. The submission window is open between September 7 and September 26, 2026, with dates varying by post and recruitment category. Reservation rules for various categories will apply during the finalisation of these details.
Candidates are advised to await the official CEN notification for eligibility criteria, application dates, and examination schedule.
