Russian Overnight Strikes on Kyiv Region and Sumy Leave Injuries, Damage

Russian strikes overnight on Kyiv region and Sumy injured two and damaged homes and warehouses; Sumy region saw one death and eight injuries in 24 hours.

Russian forces launched overnight attacks on Ukraine's Kyiv region and the northeastern city of Sumy, causing injuries and significant damage to civilian and industrial sites, local authorities reported.

In the Kyiv region, two people were injured in a morning strike, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the regional military administration. The attack damaged civilian infrastructure, igniting a fire at warehouse facilities and destroying a private home in the Bucha district. Separate strikes also affected a private residence in the Brovary district and a warehouse building in the Boryspil district.

Further east, in the city of Sumy, firefighters battled a large blaze in a non-residential building after strikes targeted an industrial area on the city's outskirts. Emergency services worked through the night and into the following dusk to extinguish the flames and clear debris.

Across the broader Sumy region, the National Police of Ukraine reported that Russian forces carried out 62 strikes on settlements over the past 24 hours, resulting in one fatality and injuring eight people. The attacks underscore the continued intensity of strikes on Ukrainian civilian areas and infrastructure.
