Russia Warns It Could Strike UK Military Targets Over Missile Deal

Russia threatens strikes on UK military targets after Britain allows Ukraine to produce Storm Shadow missiles.

Russia has warned that it could strike British military targets both inside and outside Ukraine in response to Ukrainian attacks using British-supplied missiles. The threat was issued on Thursday by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova during a news briefing in Moscow.

Zakharova called on Britain to abandon what she described as its hostile stance toward Ukraine, saying such a position risked pushing the conflict to an entirely new level. She also accused Britain and France of "playing with fire" by providing sensitive missile technology to Kyiv.

The warning follows Britain's announcement on Monday that it would allow Ukraine access to classified technology to begin its own production of Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles, which are capable of striking targets deep inside Russian territory. France has also approved licensing the technology for the European-made missile.

Moscow's latest rhetoric underscores growing tensions over Western military support for Ukraine, particularly as Kyiv gains the ability to manufacture advanced weapons domestically. The Kremlin has repeatedly cautioned that such assistance could draw NATO countries directly into the war.
