Russian Drone Strikes Injure Seven Across Ukraine, Damage Warehouses and Port Infrastructure
Russian overnight drone strikes injured seven people across Ukraine and damaged warehouses, businesses and port infrastructure in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia and Odesa.
Russia carried out overnight drone strikes on Ukrainian businesses and storage facilities, injuring seven people across the country, local authorities said.
Moscow's defence ministry said its forces conducted "group strikes" with drones targeting what it described as military-industrial and energy sector facilities, logistics centres and maritime vessels.
In Kyiv and the surrounding region, a storage site and an industrial facility used for storing and producing drones were hit, according to the Russian ministry. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported three injuries in the capital.
A warehouse in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district was damaged and caught fire, while a fuel station and an office building in the same district were also affected. In the Solomianskyi district, drone debris fell in open areas between residential buildings and at a second location. Debris also came down in a non-residential zone of the Darnytskyi district, where a gas station was damaged.
Two people were injured in an attack on a business in the Zhytomyr region, west of Kyiv, Ukraine's Emergency Service said.
In the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, two men aged 37 and 39 were hurt in a strike that ignited a large fire at a shopping centre. Emergency services said the blaze spread across roughly 6,000 square metres before being brought under control. Crews worked under difficult conditions, periodically halting operations and taking shelter because of the threat of further attacks.
In the southern Odesa region, Russian strikes hit warehouse buildings and started a large fire. Firefighters contended with repeated air raid alerts, the structure of the building and the large volume of goods inside, the service said.
Russia said three logistics centres used to store military and dual-use goods were struck in Odesa, along with another storage facility in the wider region used for drone components. A bulk carrier said to be transporting military supplies to the port of Odesa was also hit at sea, the defence ministry added.
