Odesa hit by heavy Russian drone and missile barrage, three wounded

A large-scale Russian attack on the Odesa region overnight left three people injured and caused significant damage to civilian property, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service.

Viktoria Zhuravska, a representative of the Odesa Regional Department of the State Emergency Service, said the strikes triggered fires at several locations. Firefighters battled blazes that engulfed a garage roof, dry grass, and outbuildings at gas stations.

Elsewhere, the attack damaged the windows, façade, and entrance canopy of a 16-story residential building. A private house and its garage, an educational facility, and nearby vehicles were also hit.

Ukraine's air force reported that its defenses engaged 233 targets overnight. The Russian forces launched two Oniks anti-ship missiles, Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and 258 attack drones, including Shahed-type models. Officials said about a third of the drones were jet-powered, with others identified as Gerbera and S8000 Banderol drones, along with decoys.

The air force said the main regions targeted were Odesa, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia.
