Russian drone and missile strikes kill teenager in Kyiv, hit Odesa region

A Russian drone struck a residential building in Kyiv's Pecherskyi district on Friday morning, killing a 14-year-old boy and injuring at least seven residents, according to the Kyiv city military administration and city police.

The drone hit the 16-storey building at the 10th and 11th floors at around 8 a.m., police said. Emergency crews evacuated residents, and first responders were seen carrying an injured person from the building. Footage from the scene showed blood on the stairwell and a body inside a flat.

Separately, a series of large-scale Russian strikes hit Ukraine's Odesa region, killing at least one person and injuring another, said Oleh Kiper, head of the regional military administration.

The strikes damaged residential areas and logistics facilities belonging to a postal operator, Kiper said. Emergency and specialised services were working at the sites to deal with the aftermath, he added.

Night-time footage from Odesa showed a facility burning and firefighters clearing rubble.
