Andhra Pradesh Police Launch SafeStay AP App for Verified Stays and SOS Response

The Andhra Pradesh Police have rolled out a new digital platform aimed at making accommodation safer and tightening the link between stays and emergency response. The SafeStay AP app was launched on Tuesday by Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta and Guntur district Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal.

Through the mobile application, guests can look for verified hotels, paying guest accommodations, hostels and other registered properties based on location and requirements. Users can manage bookings and stays, keep a digital profile and complete the applicable verification process.

A separate application serves property owners and managers, allowing them to register properties digitally, record room and bed details, track availability, handle bookings and update guest information. The design is meant to cut reliance on scattered or manual record-keeping.

For the police, an authorised interface brings accommodation and safety information into one place. It supports property verification, safety alerts, SOS notifications, maps, analytics and operational visibility, with access governed by role-based permissions and departmental authorisation.

The platform's core infrastructure includes secure backend services, authentication, digital document and KYC workflows, notifications, mapping, analytics and SOS facilities. According to the police, the app is built to give law enforcement real-time access to guest information and live occupancy details across hotels and paying guest accommodations in the state.

By connecting accommodation discovery, verification and booking with safety response through a controlled digital workflow, the initiative is positioned as part of a broader push towards technology-driven policing. Officials expect it to help streamline crime prevention, speed up investigations and improve public safety through digital connectivity between accommodations and the police department.
