Salman Khan Slams Trolls Over Postpartum Body-Shaming on Bigg Boss 20
Salman Khan lashed out at online trolls on Bigg Boss 20, defending women facing body-shaming and postpartum weight gain criticism.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan used a recent episode of Bigg Boss 20 to deliver a sharp rebuke to online trolls, particularly those targeting women over their appearance. His remarks came amid a wave of criticism directed at his friend and fellow actor Katrina Kaif, who faced trolling over postpartum weight gain after attending the Ambanis' Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Without naming Kaif, Khan questioned the logic behind such attacks. He pointed out that women naturally gain weight during pregnancy and will return to their fitness routines when they choose to resume work. He added that a new mother may simply want to spend time with her family.
Khan also revealed that he himself has been a target of age-related trolling, with users commenting that he has grown old. He acknowledged his age, saying he is 60, and noted that he cannot remain the same as he was in Maine Pyar Kiya. He said he is aware of who trolls him but chooses not to react, citing his large fan base and indifference to the criticism.
In a dramatic moment, Khan removed his shirt and hat, wiped off his makeup on camera, and challenged trolls to mock him then, proudly displaying his physique.
The actor also addressed trolling directed at his brother Sohail Khan and others. He urged trolls to first examine themselves, their own bodies, and their parents before mocking others, calling the ridicule of Sohail and Varun unacceptable.
Khan further criticised the paparazzi for filming actresses from behind and taking inappropriate shots. He said none of the heroines or girls like it, and shared that his own niece has been filmed from behind with captions asking people to guess who she is. He advised girls to confront such photographers and call out their behaviour, labelling the mentality disgusting.
