Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama Gears Up for Four-Day Centenary Celebrations
Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama is preparing for its centenary celebrations, a four-day event in 2027 focused on social empowerment and reform.
Preparations are under way for the centenary celebrations of the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, led by Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar. The four-day event will take place at Wadi Haramayn in Kooriyad, near Vengara, from January 28 to 31, 2027.
The programmes are centred on social empowerment and will involve children, students, youth, families and senior citizens. The action plan covers village development, mahallu reforms, social welfare schemes, financial discipline and sustainable development projects.
As part of the centenary campaign, Samastha will organise awareness programmes against drug abuse, extravagance, violence and financial crimes. Conferences will be held in various States and GCC countries. In Keralam, 630 Tasqiya conferences focusing on self-improvement will be organised.
Discussion meetings will also be held at 130 centres across the State, addressing more than 100 social issues. These sessions will cover democracy, secularism, family, law, education, faith, spirituality and social responsibilities.
District-level mahallu management conferences will deliberate on employment, food security, healthcare, education, cyber safety, digital literacy, drug prevention, youth empowerment, environmental protection, waste management and mental health.
The Sunni Students Federation (SSF)'s volunteer group, which has around 25,000 student members, will support the centenary programmes. Members will receive training in politics, careers and social service, with projects planned at campuses and local levels.
Other initiatives will focus on the welfare of persons with disabilities and senior citizens, social harmony, responsible digital citizenship, health, environmental protection, and employment and financial sustainability.
At a centenary reception committee meeting held at Edarikode on Sunday evening, committee vice-chairman C. Mohammed Faizy inaugurated the programme. Samastha Mushawara member Kombam K.P. Mohammed Musliyar presided over the meeting, and Samastha secretary Perode Abdul Rahman Saqafi presented the action plan.
