Samsung Commits $1 Billion to Helix Digital's Global AI Infrastructure Push

Samsung Electronics has committed $1 billion through its capital fund to KKR-backed Helix Digital to support its global AI infrastructure buildout.

Samsung Electronics has committed $1 billion through its capital fund to Helix Digital, the KKR-backed AI infrastructure company said on Tuesday, in a move aimed at accelerating the firm's global buildout of AI-enabling assets.

The commitment adds to more than $10 billion of capital already pledged to the Helix strategy, the company said.

US-based Helix Digital invests in, delivers and manages infrastructure that supports artificial intelligence, spanning hyperscale data centers, power generation and transmission, as well as fiber and connectivity assets.

The company said it expects to draw on Samsung's technology and energy storage capabilities to speed up the development and delivery of AI infrastructure, working alongside Nvidia's full-stack technology.

Helix's anchor investors include KKR, the Kuwait Investment Authority and Nvidia, among others.

The investment underscores the growing capital flows into the physical infrastructure underpinning AI, as data center operators race to secure power, connectivity and storage capacity to meet rising demand.
