Five-Storey PG Collapses in Delhi's Satya Niketan; One Dead, Several Rescued

A five-storey paying guest (PG) accommodation collapsed in Delhi's Satya Niketan area on [day], sending tremors through the neighbourhood that eyewitnesses likened to an earthquake. The building, which was occupied by students at the time of the incident, gave way suddenly, causing widespread panic among residents of nearby structures.

Emergency teams rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. One person was confirmed dead, while several others were pulled out from the debris and shifted for medical aid. The number of injured or trapped could not be immediately ascertained.

Local residents and eyewitnesses said the structure was over 20 years old and had not been maintained properly. They also pointed to the congested lanes in the area, which hampered the movement of rescue vehicles and added to the chaos.
