₹100-crore Semiconductor Capability Park Planned at Technocity
A ₹100-crore Semiconductor Capability Development Park and Science & Technology Experience Park are proposed at Technocity, Thiruvananthapuram.
Thiruvananthapuram is set to host a new hub for semiconductor education and innovation. A Semiconductor Capability Development Park, along with a Science and Technology Experience Park, has been proposed at Technocity in the city.
The project will come up on a 10-acre plot with an investment of ₹100 crore. It will be implemented by Xtra G Club Private Limited in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Keralam.
The initiative aims to bring together semiconductor skill development, science and technology experiences, research, entrepreneurship, industry collaboration, and public engagement under one ecosystem. The proposed model focuses on hands-on learning, where technology is experienced, tested, and created rather than merely studied or displayed.
A key focus of the project is semiconductor capability development. The planned facilities include semiconductor process demonstration units, electronics laboratories, chip-design learning environments, prototyping spaces, technology demonstration areas, and industry-oriented programmes.
