Shaque trailer out: Parineeti Chopra makes series debut in Netflix mystery thriller

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Shaque, a mystery thriller starring Parineeti Chopra as a mother searching for her missing child. The series premieres on September 24.

The trailer for the upcoming mystery thriller Shaque was released on Thursday, offering a first look at Parineeti Chopra's series debut. The show is set to premiere on Netflix on September 24.

At the centre of the story is a woman who has spent nine years searching for her missing child. The trailer shows her refusing to accept that the child is gone and continuing her hunt for answers, a pursuit that gradually uncovers a truth forcing her to question those around her.

Chopra, who plays the mother, said the story resonated with her because of its focus on a mother's instinct and her determination to find her child. Describing the project as unlike anything she has done before, she said that while the emotional core rests on a mother's refusal to give up, the narrative runs deeper as the search challenges everything she believes about the people in her life. She added that, as a mother herself, she found that instinct deeply personal.

Jennifer Winget, who also features in the series, said what drew her was the ambiguity of its characters. She noted that nothing in the story is simply black or white, with each character carrying a history, motive and secret that gradually adds another layer. According to her, the mystery keeps viewers guessing, but the emotional relationships make the suspense feel personal.

Created by Rensil D'Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, the series is directed by Rensil D'Silva. Sapna Malhotra and Siddharth P. Malhotra have produced it under Alchemy Filmz. The cast also includes Harleen Sethi, Sumeet Vyas and Dhruv Chowdhary.

Titled Shaque: Trust No One, the series will be available for streaming from September 24.
